Glandular Fever And Blood In Sputum

last step in China!

So here we are 2 km from the border with Kazakhstan ... the last step was harder than expected in the mountains, with a pass at 2150m, but the breathtaking scenery made us forget the state of the calamitous road to this village last. On the way, the heat and dry air give rise to several dust devils.

a "dust-devil" in training a few dozen meters from the car .

three vortices in the plains near Jinghe.

After an endless climb, we here in what remains for us one of the finest landscapes we've seen during this trip: the extended bordering Lake Sayram Hu, a real postcard.

Berger and his horse herd

past few days already, yurts have appeared here and there, we come across again, still more than 2000 meters above sea level.

comfortable with T1 local dependence

We rest a bit at the top of the neck:

The small car in the meadow with Gege Ingalls

Before beginning the descent into hell that a track will shake us to the end: 70 km more or less steep slope in 6 hours!

But what are the highways? ...

Upon arrival, a nice plate of Laghman (long noodles, specialty Uygur) will do to give us our emotions

See you soon. In Kazakhstan!

5000 km! Small balance and remarks on electric power in China CHINA

With a little over 5000 miles on the odometer, or roughly one third of our trip (and yes, it's great China!), A small take stock.

First in purely technical, it turns out that our car has shown until now that the electric motor was able to overcome many obstacles: temperatures of -3 to +40 °, altitude from -150 to 3000 meters and the distance record of 425 miles in one go . And everything loaded like a yak (also inside the car starts to have also the smell).

In this regard, we reply to Pierre on what is in the vehicle apart to allow all components to run an electric car, we have 2 spare wheels, 2 sacks contensnt our personal belongings, some spare parts (hopefully never have to unpack), a good tool box, and wiring needed for any type of outlet (or intensity) that can be encountered on the road. The white antenna on the roof is actually satellite connections

We noticed that the electric car is more than a vague plan in China. Here, many are electric 2 wheel (about 70% scooters Current ): Quiet ride is much more likely than former smoking backfires scooters!

Lockers Recharge the battery every branch employee arriving at work ...

bikes and scooters in the colors "flashy" on sale everywhere.

Beginning last May, the city of Shenzhen has released the first fleet of electric taxis in the world. total success, with races 30% cheaper than those made in standard car.

The Chinese government has signed eight MoUs with the United States on the development of new energy. In the Gobi desert, huge fleets of hundreds of windmills bloomed, and the roofs of small mountain villages are beginning to cover panels solaires.Des fairs offering renewable energy heating systems are appearing on city squares. Electrical energy is already a reality!

you soon on the other side of the border.

Parts Of A Fish Brain

, Turpan: The languid town.

Our short stop in Turpan has really charmed.

We were attracted by the Emin Mosque, named after the General who built it in 1777.

Note the section of wall to the right of the mosque which collapsed this year due to strong winds in April (when we told you that it blew!)

To enter we had much to discuss, negotiate, we do save and finally hire a guide local.En Since the riots in Xinjiang, the sites are not as easily accessible and everything is controlled. We also have not seen many foreigners in Turpan and we were almost alone that morning to walk on this sacred place and contemplate its splendid minaret style Afghanistan.

Then en route to the ruins of Jiaohe , one of the ancient city's largest and best preserved in the world. The garrison town was home to 2000 years ago to 20 000. The remains let us imagine the forts, temples, palaces ...... you get lost in this maze of alleys.

Turpan is an oasis in the desert. There are many fruits, including grapes that people are often dry in shelters built on the roof of their house. They use screens wood for hanging in clusters then they have some sort of elevator opened to the four winds (and there are here) ..

The vines are also used to provide shade in the hottest city in China and the streets are often covered with vines , which makes walking very enjoyable!

Heat imposes its pace here. The day everything seemed asleep, and life resumed really do that during the long evening (the sun does not set until 22h, Beijing time!). So when school is out for some others are just beginning their workday.

By 18 hours all along the busy streets to sell fruits, roast mutton skewers, cook patties with sesame. The atmosphere is serene in the streets of earth reddened by dusk.

Illustration Of A Brazilian Wax

Uh .... Will you take a little desert ?.....

Well yes, it never ends ... Difficult to describe the feeling of wonder and apprehension when you're in the middle of nowhere, our thoughts are with the caravan of yesteryear who were beating the same path in camel, not to mention our illustrious Cruise Yellow predecessors, who had to find a very long time in the middle of these countries are not conducive to anything other than meditation or the galley ...

So we continued as poorly as well our journey to Turpan, another stage of the legendary Silk Road. We became pros calculating percentages, between the data provided by the onboard computer (amperage, remaining energy), and mileage to be covered, depending on terrain and weather. Of course all this does not take into account the condition of some roads, often single tracks or old signs that you show the path he had taken ... Before a new road was made ..... Hence some unnecessary detours that cost us much of our precious energy and extension steps that went up to 13 hours for the most painful of them .... The "Shanghai" is still brave!

The wind is still very hard all day long and it raises the sand and dust particles charging the sky that irritate the eyes and end up turning the blue into a gradient from orange to gray .. . Temperature, it remains fairly warm (at least for us): 32 degrees in the shade.

Apparently this is not a good spot for mushrooms ...

Today we went to the Great Depression Turpan, a huge pool of tens of thousands of "square kilometers to 153 meters below (yes, below) of sea level at its lowest point. The maximum temperature recorded was 50 ° in the shade ... the hottest place in China.

Finally we get to Turpan, an oasis in the desert , a mirage of life in this torrid end of the world: here everything imaginable is grown. Apricots, grapes, sorghum, maize, wheat, melons, peaches, blackberries, plums, all irrigated by fresh water fly to distant mountains in a sixty-ten kilometers, thanks to ingenious underground irrigation systems (dug by hand during tens of years!) called Karez.

facies past few days have changed dramatically, we are well Uighur country. The vernacular language is Mandarin, but in the street, we hear only the local language of Turkic origin.

Religion casting Islam is now, and writing is the most often-used Arabic. In short, it's the total package, and we sometimes forget we are still in China!

In the old city, a seller of mature invites us to come pick fruit directly from the roof of his house. From up there, views of the vines in each private courtyard, supporting the vines out of sight! We rest a moment on the "summer reads", under the incredulous eyes of Badin, the daughter of our host ...

blankets being well guarded, I content myself with a cushion ....

CHINA, Turpan: On the road encounters

Crossing the desert was grueling Dunhuang to Turpan. Two very long days-nights road without crossing the great world.

Past the mountains of fire, life resumed around the oasis of Turpan. The fruit vendors drive the roadside. Two young women invite us to eat melons and watermelons. They almost apologize, this year they are small, violent winds ripped most of April have (even the wall of the Mosque of Emin), the season will be difficult ... They live there in a small home-away in one piece along a dusty road swept by the winds. The husbands work the fields. The first young woman of barely twenty years bears his eight month old baby in her arms. It's a boy and as tradition dictates Uighur, she hung garlic on the door of the house at birth. I take a picture of them and prints. She smiled, this is the first time she has a picture of her with her child. I told her she is beautiful (look at his eyes!). She shakes her head, rubbing the black spots on his face.

His sister also wants a picture with her child. She asks me a minute ... I will wait a quarter of an hour. The time for her to wake her son, her face full Cleanup of soil, he put on his overalls prettier, to restyle ... A mother on the day of the class photo! The child is barely awake and not fully understood. He examines Xavier and his beard a month, mid-air mid-asleep perplexed.

Then they take pictures of the game, the melon is more beautiful with the color of the fruit!

After the hot deserts, the meetings!

Just a quick note to thank you again for all expressions of friendship and encouragement we receive on this blog, both friends of people passage.Nous want the same opportunity to answer some questions that have been raised recently (we allow to use "tu" for all).

Joel, on your question related to the reactions that we encounter when we say that our car is electric: I would say the Chinese are not a natural to be upset by what surprised no matter what their ad. They show a great surprise at the model car (chassis Berlingo is unknown here), and show themselves most interested in buying the vehicle itself. Here pragmatism prevails over the dream, and we do not include such a vehicle capable of traversing China from east to west without a drop of gasoline is not already sold ....

Pp on your question about road conditions in China: I personally have never seen a site as Pharaonic on highway construction .... Hundreds of miles of highway lanes are built 2x2 simultaneously, the network modernized at great speed V. Meanwhile, the secondary network does not seem to be the priority at the moment, which gives a fairly wide range of what can be found under the wheels, the clean and smooth asphalt to dirt tracks, through concrete slabs dislocated, or tar distorted by heat which prevails in some regions ...

Aude, on your question concerning the regular dispatch of our tickets, no matter where we are: we are equipped with a computer connected to a satellite modem and a telephone, he as satellite, which allow us to communicate anywhere and stay in touch, especially to take stock of developments in the journey.

"Buy Buy! No I'm not in the office, there ..."

We would indeed be noted that despite the deliberately "light" the tone of this blog or on Radio Monaco, (more oriented towards the trip itself, and experiences at the option of meeting) It should be borne in mind that this trip is primarily an experimental mission, sponsored by companies as big as Venturi, the Foundation Albert II of Monaco, Citroen, or Zebra. Every day, data is collected, technical points are made, relationships are established (yes the days are long trrrrrrrrès).
World records have already been validated , and this trip in complete autonomy remains primarily an attempt to first in the field of electric vehicle ... We therefore take these connections to send text and pictures in our communications department Venturi (cf. www.shanghai-paris.fr) and our webmaster Montpellier (which we applaud the passage), which is responsible for making the implementation layout and editing .... That it's beautiful art!

soon for more!

Pilar Montenegro En Fake

After the city, the campaign!

week later, we arrived at Askri, a small village about an hour from Agadir, near and Imouzer its famous waterfalls.

is a French organization, "Second Wind", which has welcomed us. This association organizes trips for young people break the French predicament. It is in Morocco for a month already and their group consists of three educators who accompany five teenagers, Ali, Safia, Louis Maxime and Xavier.
They are in Morocco for three months and participate in several projects and actions such as our project. They helped us to frame the circus workshops and percussion on the four schools around the village and have themselves tested for different disciplines.

team of young teachers of these schools has supported us in our work. The children in this area we have touched by their simple and sincere interest in meeting us. Many children followed us to all schools to participate in the workshop and they joined us in the evening at our camp in argan trees to extend a little music and play at this stage was magical because it was the last .

The journey is finally en route to the boat ...
